ಏಕೋನಪಂಚಾಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ
( ಅಹಲ್ಯಾ ಶಾಪ ವಿಮುಕ್ತಿಃ )

ಅಫಲಸ್ತು ತತ ಶ್ಸಕ್ರೋ ದೇವಾನ್ ಅಗ್ನಿಪುರೋಧಸಃ |
ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್ ತ್ರಸ್ತವದನಃ ಸರ್ಷಿಸಂಘಾನ್ ಸಚಾರಣಾನ್ ||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ಅಫಲಸ್ತು ಶಕ್ರಃ ತ್ರಸ್ತವದನಃ ಸ ಋಷಿಸಂಘಾನ್ ಸ ಚಾರಣಾನ್ ದೇವಾನ್ ಪುರೋಧಸಃ ಅಗ್ನಿಂ ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್.

Then crest fallen Indra who lost his testicles spoke to Agni and Devas along with the legion of sages and Charanas.

ಕುರ್ವತಾ ತಪಸೋ ವಿಘ್ನಂ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ |
ಕ್ರೋಧಮುತ್ಪಾದ್ಯ ಹಿ ಮಯಾ ಸುರಕಾರ್ಯಂ ಇದಂ ಕೃತಮ್||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ ಕ್ರೋಧಮುತ್ಪಾಜ್ಯ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ತಪಸೋ ವಿಘ್ನಂ ಕುರ್ವತ | ಮಯಾ ಇದಂ ಸುರಕಾರ್ಯಂ ಕೃತಂ |

"Making him angry I have disturbed the penance of the venerable sage. I have done this work for Devas".

ಅಫಲೋsಸ್ಮಿ ಕೃತಸ್ತೇನ ಕ್ರೋಧಾತ್ ಸಾ ಚ ನಿರಾಕೃತಾ |
ಶಾಪಮೋಕ್ಷೇಣ ಮಹತಾ ತಪೋsಸ್ಯಾಪಹತಂ ಮಯಾ ||

ಸ|| ತೇನ ಕ್ರೋಧಾತ್ ಅಫಲೋಸ್ಮಿ | ಸಾ ( ಅಹಲ್ಯಾಚ) ನಿರಾಕೃತಾ | ಮಯಾ ಶಾಪ ಮೋಕ್ಷೇಣ ಅಸ್ಯ ಮಹತಾ ತಪಃ ಅಪಹುತಂ |

"Because of his anger I have lost my testicles. She became one without a form. Because of the curse the power of the penance was destroyed".

ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸುರವರಾಸ್ಸರ್ವೇ ಸರ್ಷಿಸಂಘಾ ಸ್ಸಚಾರಣಾಃ |
ಸುರಸಾಹ್ಯಕರಂ ಸರ್ವೇ ಸಫಲಂ ಕರ್ತುಮರ್ಹಥ ||

ಸ|| ಹೇ ಸುರವರಾಃ ! ತಸ್ಮಾತ್ ಸರ್ವೇ ಸ ಋಷಿಸಂಘಾಃ ಸ ಚಾರಣಾಃ ಸುರಸಾಹ್ಯಕರಂ ಸಫಲಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ ಅರ್ಹಥ |

"Hence Oh best of Suras ! you along with the legions of sages and Charanas should make me one having testicles".

ಶತಕ್ರತೋರ್ವಚಶ್ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ದೇವಾಸ್ಸಾಗ್ನಿಪುರೋಗಮಾಃ |
ಪಿತೃದೇವಾನುಪೇತ್ಯಾಹುಃ ಸಹ ಸರ್ವೈರ್ಮರುದ್ಗಣೈಃ ||

ಸ|| ಶತಕ್ರತೋಃ ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಅಗ್ನಿ ಪುರೋಗಮಾಃಸ ಮರುದ್ಗಣೈಃ ಸಹ ಪಿತೃದೇವಾನ್ ಅನುಪೇತ್ಯ ದೇವಾಃ ಆಹುಹುಃ |

Hearing those words of Indra , the Devas along with Agni and legions of Maruts went to the PitruDevas.

ಅಯಂ ಮೇಷಃ ಸವೃಷಣಃ ಶಕ್ರೋ ಹ್ಯವೃಷಣಃ ಕೃತಃ |
ಮೇಷಸ್ಯ ವೃಷಣೌ ಗೃಹ್ಯ ಶಕ್ರಾಯಾಶು ಪ್ರಯಚ್ಛತ ||

ಸ|| ಶಕ್ರೋ ಹ್ಯ ವೃಷಣಃ ಕೃತಃ | ಅಯಂ ಮೇಷಃ ಸ ವೃಷಣಃ | ಮೇಷಸ್ಯ ವೃಷಣೌ ಗೃಹ್ಯ ಶಕ್ರಯಾಶು ಪ್ರಯಚ್ಛತ |

"Indra has no testicles. This goat has testicles. The testicles of the goat may be given to Indra".

ಅಫಲಸ್ತು ಕೃತೋ ಮೇಷಃ ಪರಾಂ ತುಷ್ಟಿಂ ಪ್ರದಾಸ್ಯತಿ |
ಭವತಾಂ ಹರ್ಷಣಾರ್ಥಾಯ ಯೇ ಚ ದಾಸ್ಯಂತಿ ಮಾನವಾಃ ||

ಸ|| ಭವತಾಂ ಹರ್ಷಣಾರ್ಥಾಯ ಮಾನವಾಃ ಯೇ ದಾಸ್ಯಂತಿ | ಮೇಷಃ ಅಫಲಸ್ತು ಕೃತೋ ಅಪಿ ಪರಾಂ ತುಷ್ಟಿಂ ಪ್ರದಾಸ್ಯತಿ ಚ|

"For your pleasure the people offer this to us. The goat even without testicles satisfies you".

ಅಗ್ನೇಸ್ತು ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಪಿತೃದೇವಾಸ್ಸಮಾಗತಾಃ |
ಉತ್ಪಾಟ್ಯ ಮೇಷ ವೃಷಣೌ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ನ್ಯವೇಶಯನ್ ||

ಸ|| ಅಗ್ನೇಸ್ತು ವಚನಂ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ಸಮಾಗತಾಃ ಪಿತ್ರುದೇವಾಃ ಮೇಷ ವೃಷಣೌ ಉತ್ಪಾಟ್ಯ ಸಹಸ್ರಾಕ್ಷೇ ನ್ಯವೇಶಯನ್ |

Hearing those words of Agni, the Pitru Devas who gathered there gave the testicles of the goat to Indra.

ತದಾ ಪ್ರಭೃತಿ ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥ ಪಿತೃದೇವಾಃ ಸಮಾಗತಾಃ |
ಅಫಲಾನ್ ಭುಜಂತೇ ಮೇಷಾನ್ ಫಲೈಸ್ತೇಷಾಮ್ ಅಯೋಜಯನ್ ||

ಸ|| ಹೇ ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥಃ ! ತದಾಪ್ರಭೃತಿ ಸಮಾಗತಾಃ ಪಿತೃದೇವಾಃ ಅಫಲಾನ್ ಮೇಷಾಂ ಭುಜಂತೇ | ತೇಷಾಂ ಫಲೈಃ ಅಯೋಜಯನ್ |

'Oh Kautstha ! From that time the Pitrudevas accepted the offering of goats without testicles and providing beneifits for the offerings'.

ಇಂದ್ರಸ್ತು ಮೇಷ ವೃಷಣಃ ತದಾ ಪ್ರಭೃತಿ ರಾಘವ |
ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭಾವೇನ ತಪಸಶ್ಚ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ ||
ಸ|| ಹೇ ರಾಘವ ! ತದಾಪ್ರಭೃತಿ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಃ ತಪಸಶ್ಚ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭಾವೇನ ಇಂದ್ರಸ್ತು ಮೇಷ ವೃಷಣಃ ( ಭವತಿ) |

'Oh Raghava ! from that time Indra is called the "Meshavrushana", the one with testicles of a goat'.

ತದಾಗಚ್ಛ ಮಹತೇಜ ಆಶ್ರಮಂ ಪುಣ್ಯಕರ್ಮಣಃ |
ತಾರಯೈನಾಂ ಮಹಾಭಾಗಾಮ್ ಅಹಲ್ಯಾಂ ದೇವರೂಪಿಣೀಮ್||

ಸ|| ಹೇ ಮಹಾತೇಜ ! ತದಾ ಪುಣ್ಯಕರ್ಮಣಃ ಆಶ್ರಮಂ ಆಗಚ್ಛ| ಏನಾಂ ಮಹಾಭಾಗಾಮ್ ದೇವರೂಪಿಣೀಮ್ ಅಹಲ್ಯಾಂ ತಾರಯ |

'Oh Mahateja ! So you must come to the sacred hermitage. You must free Ahalya from her curse'.

ವಿಶಾಮಿತ್ರ ವಚಶ್ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ರಾಘವಃ ಸಹ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಃ |
ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತ್ಯ ತಮಾಶ್ರಮ ಮಥಾವಿಶತ್ ||

ಸ|| ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಸ್ಯ ವಚಃ ಶ್ರುತ್ವಾ ರಾಘವಃ ಸ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಃ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಪುರಶ್ಕೃತ್ಯ್ ತಂ ಆಶ್ರಮಂ ಅಥ ಆವಿಶತ್ |

Hearing those words of sage Viswamitra , Rama and Lakshmana entered the hermitage with Viswamitra leading them.

ದದರ್ಶ ಚ ಮಹಾಭಾಗಾಂ ತಪಸಾ ದ್ಯೋತಿತಪ್ರಭಾಮ್ |
ಲೋಕೈರಪಿ ಸಮಾಗಮ್ಯ ದುರ್ನಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಂ ಸುರಾಸುರೈಃ ||

ಸ|| ( ತದಾ) ಲೋಕೈರಪಿ ಸುರಾಸುರೈಃ ದುರ್ನಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಂ ತಪಸಾ ದ್ಯೋತಿತ ಪ್ರಭಾಂ ಮಹಾಭಾಗಾಂ ದದರ್ಶ

Then they saw that lady who is invisible to the people as well as Suras and Asuras, who is literally shining with the brilliance of her own penance.

ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಾ ನ್ನಿರ್ಮಿತಾಂ ಧಾತ್ರಾ ದಿವ್ಯಾಂ ಮಾಯಾ ಮಯೀ ಮಿವ|
ಸತುಷಾರವೃತಾಂ ಸಾಭ್ರಾಂ ಪೂರ್ಣಚಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರಭಾಮಿವ ||
( ಧೂಮೇನಾಪಿ ಪರೀತಾಂಗೀಂ ದೀಪ್ತಾಂ ಅಗ್ನಿಶಿಖಾಮಿವ )||

ಸ|| ಮಾಯಾ ಮಯೀಂ ಇವ ಪೂರ್ಣಚಂದ್ರ ಪ್ರಭಾಂ ಇವ ಸ ತುಷಾರವೃತಾಂ ಧಾತ್ರಾ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಾತ್ ನಿರ್ಮಿತಾಂ ( ತಾಂ ದದರ್ಶ)

Being invisible she is lika Maya. She is like the shining full moon covered by the water laden clouds. She is specially built by the efforts of the creator.

ಮಧ್ಯೇಂಭಸೋ ದುರಾದರ್ಷಾಂ ದೀಪ್ತಾಂ ಸೂರ್ಯಪ್ರಭಾಮಿವ |
ಸಾ ಹಿ ಗೌತಮವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ದುರ್ನಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯಾ ಬಭೂವ ಹ ||
ತ್ರಯಾಣಮಪಿ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ಯಾವದ್ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ದರ್ಶನಮ್ |
ಶಾಪಸ್ಯಾಂತಮುಪಾಗಮ್ಯ ತೇಷಾಂ ದರ್ಶನ ಮಾಗತಾ ||

ಸ|| ಅಂಭಸೇ ಮಧ್ಯೇ ದೀಪ್ತಾಂ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಭಾಮ್ ಇವ ಸಾ ಗೌತಮ ವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ತ್ರಯಾಣಾಮಪಿ ಲೋಕಾನಾಂ ದುರ್ನಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯಾ ಬಭೂವ ಹ | ಯಾವತ್ ರಾಮಸ್ಯ ದರ್ಶನಂ ಶಾಪಸ್ಯ ಅಂತ ಮುಪಾಗಮ್ಯ ತೇಷಾಂ ದರ್ಶನ ಮ ಆಗತಾ |

( She was) Like the Sun's brilliance seen in the water. She was invisible to all the three worlds due to Gautama's curse. With the Darshan of Rama she became free of the curse and became visible.

ರಾಘವೌ ತು ತತಃ ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಪಾದೌ ಜಗೃಹತು ತದಾ |
ಸ್ಮರಂತಿ ಗೌತಮ ವಚಃ ಪ್ರತಿಜಗ್ರಾಹ ಸಾ ಚ ತೌ ||

ಸ|| ತತಃ ರಾಘವೌ ತಸ್ಯಾಃ ಪಾದೌ ಜಗೃಹತು | ತದಾ ಸಾ ಚ ಗೌತಮಃ ವಚಃ ಸ್ಮರಂತಿ ಪ್ರತಿಜಗ್ರಾಹ |

Rama and Lakshmana then touched her feet. She too remembering Gautama's words touched their feet.

ಪಾದಮರ್ಘ್ಯಂ ತಥಾತಿಥ್ಯಂ ಚಕಾರ ಸುಸಮಾಹಿತಃ |
ಪ್ರತಿಜಗ್ರಾಹ ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥ ವಿಧಿ ದೃಷ್ಟೇನ ಕರ್ಮಣಾ ||

ಸ|| ಸುಸಮಾಹಿತಾ ಪಾದ್ಯಂ ಅರ್ಘ್ಯಂ ತಥಾ ಆತಿಥ್ಯಂ ಚಕಾರ ! ಕಾಕುತ್ ಸ್ಥೋಕರ್ಮಣಾ ವಿಥಿ ದೃಷ್ಟೇನ ಪ್ರತಿಜಗ್ರಾಹ |
She then offerred the traditional respects by offering water etc . Rama and Lakshman too received them as per practice.

ಪುಷ್ಪವೃಷ್ಟಿ ರ್ಮಹತ್ಯಾಸೀತ್ ದೇವದುಂದುಭಿನಿಸ್ಸ್ವನೈಃ |
ಗಂಧರ್ವಾಪ್ಸರಸಾಂ ಚಾಪಿ ಮಹಾನಾಸೀತ್ ಸಮಾಗಮಃ ||

ಸ|| ಮಹತ್ ಪುಷ್ಪವೃಷ್ಠಿಃ ಆಸೀತ್ | ಗಂಧರ್ವ ಅಪ್ಸರಸಾಂಚ ಅಪಿ ದೇವ ದುಂದುಭಿ ನಿಸ್ಸ್ವನೈಃ ಸಮಾಗಮಃ ಮಹಾನ್ ಆಸೀತ್ |

There was a great rain of flowers. The Gandharvas, Apsarasas joined Devas playing the kettle drums, in heralding the events.

ಸಾಧು ಸಾಧ್ವಿತಿ ದೇವಾಸ್ತಾಂ ಅಹಲ್ಯಾಂ ಸಮಪೂಜಯನ್ |
ತಪೋಬಲವಿಶುದ್ಧಾಂಗೀಂ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ವಶಾನುಗಾಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ತಪೋಬಲ ವಿಶುದ್ಧಾಂಗೀಂ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ವಶಾನುಗಾಂ ತಾಂ ಅಹಲ್ಯಾಂ ದೇವಾಃ ಸಾಧು ಸಾಧು ಇತಿ ಸಮಪೂಜಯನ್ |

Ahalya who was purified by the power of her penance, who has now joined Gautama, was worshipped by all Devas saying "good" "good".

ಗೌತಮೋಪಿ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ಅಹಲ್ಯಾಸಹಿತಸ್ಸುಖೀ|
ರಾಮಂ ಸಂಪೂಜ್ಯ ವಿಧಿವತ್ ತಪಸ್ತೇಪೇ ಮಹಾತಪಾಃ ||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ಗೌತಮಃ ಅಪಿ ಅಹಲ್ಯಾ ಸಹಿತ ರಾಮಂ ವಿಧಿವತ್ ಸಂಪೂಜ್ಯ ಸ್ಸುಖೀ ಮಹಾತಪಾಃ ತೇಪೇ |

The great Gautama too worshipped Rama along with Ahalya as per practice and then went on to do his penance.

ರಾಮಃ ಅಪಿ ಪರಮಾಂ ಪೂಜಾಂ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾಮುನೇಃ |
ಸಕಾಶಾದ್ವಿಧಿವತ್ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ಜಗಾಮ ಮಿಥಿಲಾಂ ತತಃ ||

ಸ|| ರಾಮಃ ಅಪಿ ಸಕಾಶಾತ್ ವಿಧಿವತ್ ಮಹಾಮುನೇಃ ಗೌತಮಸ್ಯ ಪೂಜಾಂ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ಯ ತತಃ ಮಿಥಿಲಾಂ ಜಗಾಮ |

Rama too having received the worship from venerable Gautama as prescribed , then proceeded to Mithila

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ಬಾಲಕಾಂಡೇ ಏಕೋನಪಂಚಾಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ ||
ಸಮಾಪ್ತಂ ||
